JULY, 2014 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AREA REGISTERED PIANO TECHNICIAN PARTICIPATES IN INTERNATIONAL PIANO INSTITUTE

ATLANTA

Shane Owenby, RPT*, of Piano Emporium was among nearly 500 attendees, including piano service specialists, manufacturers and suppliers, who attended the Piano Technicians Guild Annual Convention and Technical Institute.
“Even though the basic design of the piano has not changed significantly in the last 100 years the methods to produce and service them continues to evolve. Investing in learning the best methods to service your customer’s piano can benefit today’s technician immeasurably,” said Norman Cantrell, PTG President

This year’s event offered 275 total hours of classroom and hands-on learning from more than 90 instructors from around the world. More than half of the classes offered were new for the 2014 Convention.

“Another benefit to attending the convention is the opportunity to network with fellow technicians from all over the world. Those contacts are an invaluable resource to the technician and his clientele as the synergy of these networking partnerships exponentially increase the knowledge of those who attend.” Cantrell said.”

“Attending this years convention was educational and fun. There were many great classes for improving old skills as well as learning new ones to use in our everyday piano maintenance.” said Shane Owenby, RPT.

Piano Emporium, an authorized Yamaha dealer, offers a variety of professional and affordable services.
• Highly skilled technicians in the tuning and restoration of all pianos, including vintage and antique models
